Enemies, instrumental twinkle rock from Ireland, came across my tumblr dashboard about a week ago, and I have been listening to them non-stop. For being an instrumental group, these songs are still pretty infectious and will get stuck in your head. I find myself making guitar noises along to their songs at this point. The older material is incredibly anthemic, the 5 songs, being 5-10 minutes long each. The band's full-length from this past year has about 2 longer-than-normal songs, but the majority of the songs average about 4 minutes, give or take. The melodies, technicalities, and overall aura that Enemies exudes is both uplifting and relaxing at the same time, and I think it's hard for a band to achieve that dynamic, but they did it, and did it damn well.
